Nature of Work

The Account Executive will be responsible for large sales opportunities with both existing strategic customers and new customers in our current target market of state and local government. Their core responsibility will be to develop high-volume business regionally through strategic account management for new and existing accounts with high business potential. This role requires technical knowledge of TAPCO s core markets to provide on-site assistance as needed to customers in finding the right system solution to meet their needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for prospecting and managing large sales opportunities
  2. Develops and carries out an effective territory management plan to growth sales within an assigned region
  3. Works with key distributors and resellers within a defined territory to provide technical assistance and to assist them in driving sales
  4. Provides technical support and expertise for our customers to effectively sell traffic and parking safety products including on-site assistance when needed.
  5. Responsible for prospecting goals set forth for high-revenue customers
  6. Accountable for adherence to sales metric performance as defined by the management team
  7. Strategizes within their region to create relevant marketing campaigns
  8. Maintains customer data within their assigned territory in the TAPCO database
  9. Responds and follows through on inquiries and sales orders through email, over the phone or our e-commerce website
  10. Travels to regional trade shows and customer sites as necessary, and reports back to management
  11. Spots, monitors and shares product and territory trends
  12. Provides quotes, credit terms and bids to customers and/or prospects

Required Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Sales/Marketing related field and/or commensurate on-the-job experience
  • 5+ years outside business to business sales experience within a related industry
  • Possess and maintains a valid Driver s License and a satisfactory driving record
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; sales database
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and within a regional team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sitting and traveling by car to existing and prospective customers. The employee will sit while using a computer to respond to customer needs. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, and crouch; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be traveling to customers 80% of the time in their car, be at customer s sites and be in the office 20% of the time. This position may occasionally walk into the warehouse and pass near moving mechanical machinery and material handling operations, and is occasionally exposed to humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electric shock. The use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, protective gloves and hearing protection may be required depending on the area of the warehouse. The use of steel toed shoes is required in the warehouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 5:00; however, at times the workload may not require full time or may require overtime Monday through Saturday. Some flexibility of scheduling may be necessary in order to accommodate customer s needs.
