Due to continued growth, we are actively seeking an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This is an accounting position reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager. This position responsible for overseeing and directing the daily activities of the Accounts Payable Specialists.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all activities that are performed by the Accounts Payable Specialists. The activities include Invoice Scanning/Sorting, Invoice Processing, Vendor Relations and AP Support.
  • Manage the team s schedule, PTO and overtime requests.
  • Research and respond to questions accurately and in accordance with established departmental deadlines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Serve as a liaison between internal/external customers and the Accounts Payable Team.
  • Assist AP Manager with developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for monitoring and measuring our operational performance and driving continuous improvement in Accounts Payable.
  • Identify opportunities and suggest implementation strategies to improve quality of service and productivity.
  • Maintain a positive work environment that supports a high level of productivity.
  • Assist AP Manager with creating and maintaining appropriate internal department accounting policies and procedures; update as necessary.
  • Maintain the knowledge necessary to accomplish department goals and programs and retain professional competence.
  • Provide support in systems testing as necessary.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in related area or two plus years of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered.
  • Requires a high degree of adaptability. Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day-to-day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately.
  • High level of commitment to customer service and follow up required.
  • Knowledge of SX.e application and Unform is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with individuals of differing knowledge levels
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership to department personnel.
  • Must be able to respect and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • In-depth knowledge of current accounting and reporting procedures and practices as applicable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is principally performed in an office environment and is essentially stationary.
  • The ability to communicate via both inbound and outbound calling and via written correspondence is an essential function of the position.
  • The Shared Service Center has specified operating hours and work must be performed during those operational service windows.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds is required, as is the operation of a 10-key keyboard and computer.
