Job Summary: Because of company growth, Chesapeake Controls Inc. is looking to hire a Commissioning Technician for the Northern VA area. This is a great entry level opportunity if you are someone with a HVAC background who wants to learn more about the controls trade. You can jump right in to on-the-job and classroom training, and gain valuable knowledge to benefit your future! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that building automation systems are correctly wired and assembled within commercial and educational buildings. These types of projects will provide you with steady, satisfying, and challenging work.

  • Install, connect, and adjust controllers, components, devices using hand tools
  • Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagram, using electrician's hand tools
  • Layout device locations on equipment to be controlled
  • Must be able to read and comprehend standard design symbols common to industry.
  • Ability to work from floor plans, blueprints, specifications, and schematics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Experience with commissioning processes & job start-up and checkout processes.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot process, procedures, and techniques for systems, sub-systems, and devices
  • Knowledgable with Industry safety requirements
  • BACNet, LON, and various communication wiring configurations
  • Experience with Contactors, starters & motor control centers, DDC components, devices, safeties
  • HVAC and Mechanical systems knowledge a must.
  • Knowledge with Windows Operating Systems.
