Job Description

A new opening in our burgeoning Social Skills Department! Take all of the effectiveness of ABA therapy and move it into a clinic setting, and see the great results in our Social Skills groups! 


This position will provide quality, clinical supervision and work directions to program managers and interventionists providing discipline-specific treatment for children with developmental delays, disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).Responsibilities: The Clinical Supervisor Social Skills Lead will facilitate behavior programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Conduct behavior assessments and functions as an Assessor when needed. Will provide parent education, develop and deliver specific intervention activities according to the treatment plan, and monitor development of children in natural settings. Function as liaison between the organization, families, community, therapists, health care providers, etc. Responsible for meeting productivity requirements set forth in annual budget. Lead/attend meetings and conduct on-going staff trainings. Additionally, will provide direct supervisor of social skills programs for a minimum for two (2) social skills groups and approximately four (4) Program Managers leading the groups. Conduct a minimum of five (5) assessments per month. Initiate referral work flow tasks of initial screening of potential social skills group participants. Conduct initial assessment trial period of potential social skills participants. Monitor materials for social skills groups and maintain/ re-stock supplies for social skills groups. Monitor clinical appropriateness of recommendations for social skills group participants. Monitor progress reports. Attend Assessor Trainings. Monitor quality and maintain consistency of all social skills groups under direct supervision

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, psychology or related field
  • Three years of related professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team setting preferred.
  • Expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and experimental functional analysis (EFA).
  •  Expert knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit children with ASD; familiar with current related research findings.
  • Familiar with the field of early intervention; knowledge of other community resources and agencies that serve children.
  • Expertise in all empirically evaluated assessment and intervention strategies related to program and service delivery for individuals with ASD.
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.

  •  Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups. Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must relate well to children and their families. 
  • Very good working knowledge in all applicable computer programs (Microsoft Office). 
  • Valid CPR certification. Ability to pass background/fingerprint clearance, health screenings and provide/obtain immunizations. Reliable transportation, proof of valid California driver's license, safe driving record, proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
