Job Description

Position Summary:

Applies Analytical skills to develop and administer company compensation programs including base pay and short term incentives for hourly and salaried compensation programs, ensuring they support the company's pay philosophy, strategies and goals. Analyzes salary data, and maintains salary/pay structures. Conducts or participates in salary surverys. Conducts job evaluations, determines pay grades and publishes job descriptions, working with local HR and management. Ensures documentation is in compliance with Federal and State laws (FLSA, OSHA, ADA, EEOC, etc.). Assists in the administration of semi-annual incentive plan. (AIP)

Job Functions/Duties:

  • Serves as primary resource to complete job evaluation, job pricing (leveling) and publishing of job descriptions.
  • Updates and maintains job description database and documentation.
  • Works with HSE to incorporate Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) into all safety-sensitive jobs descriptions.
  • Works with Employee Relations and Legal to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws.
  • Works with HR and local management to evaluate and resolve individual and small group pay issues.
  • Participates in salary surveys. Conducts ad hoc surveys as required.
  • Works with Compensation Mgr. to update/maintain salary and pay structures.
  • Works with Compensation Mgr. to develop and administer short term incentives for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Prepare wage analysis to local management as well as executive management as needed.
  • Administers calculations for the annual incentive plan and works with accounting to adjust bonus accruals.
  • Prepares communication for incentive plans, creates flyers to promote short-term incentive plans.
  • Performs scheduled and ad hoc projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer CCP or demonstrated progress toward certification.
  • Minimum three years experience as a Compensation Analyst in a structured corporate environment.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with MS XL and MS Word
  • Experience in job evaluation, writing job descriptions.
  • Prefer some experience with variable pay program development and administration.
  • Prefer experience with large scale HRIS (Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAD, ADP)
  • Prefer Spanish language skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to prioritize and manage time to meet deadlines.
