FLSA: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Provides clerical services that expedite and facilitate repair and work orders, and supports fleet services staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and excellence in truck and equipment maintenance services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Processes repair orders in order to maintain a repair order database.
  • Completes data entry of repair orders into TMT repair order software.
  • Prepares work orders to assist Fleet Services staff in servicing vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Notes any issues or concerns on work orders.
  • Performs general office duties to assist the Fleet Services Department.
  • Assists in identifying work process improvements that result in increased productivity and effectiveness.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience in parts inventory management is preferred.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer, various printers, fax machine and other office equipment are necessary.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance software –Knowledge of TMT Fleet Parts software is strongly preferred.

Language Skills

  • Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear. Keyboard data entry is performed for the majority of the work day. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Individuals wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required for this position when in a shop, plant, or outdoor work site includes, but is not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, safety (hard toe) boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. Occasional entries into the shop are required, where moderate noise levels may be encountered.
