Delivery Driver – Heating Oil and Propane

The delivery driver is responsible for leading the initiative, execution, and growth of the principles listed below for his/her respective department. He/She will report directly to the fuel manager.

Principle Responsibilities:


  1. Efficiently deliver to residential and commercial fuel customers.
  2. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  3. Be able to detect anything that might cause future problems.
  4. Operate equipment in a safe manner, or ask for help/training.
  5. Skills of good vision, reaction time, precision control of vehicles and hose.
  6. Should be able to perform other tasks/ jobs. Ex. Mow, paint, wash trucks, help where needed
  7. Light service & maintenance, start gas logs & heating units, and hot water heaters.


  1. To maintain customer tanks in a clean fashion that properly represents the company. Which may involve painting of tanks, working in warm summer heat up to 105 degrees.
  2. Occasionally help set and pick up tanks in safe manner – utilizing safety tools and lifting assistance such as a crane or dolly. (occasionally pump out tanks)
  3. Ability to load truck from rack and pull a delivery hose up to 100 pounds up 30 times per day.
  4. Ability to work safely on a truck with flammable materials – up to 8 hours per day.

Essential Functions:

  1. Follow company handbook guidelines.
  2. To remain productive 100% of time. (Asking for additional responsibility upon completing the job.)
  3. Maintain proper documentation and customer service upon making deliveries.
  4. Maintain vehicle in good/safe condition, including cleaning of inside and out.
  5. Comply with all State, federal, and city DOT Regulations.
  6. Be a positive representative of the company and its employees; Teamwork.
  7. Current and valid CDL
  8. Comply with company dress code/uniforms.
  9. Drug screen and medical required by DOT.
  10. Certified employee training program required. (CETP)
  11. Keep good communication of location at all times with Dispatcher and supervisor.
  12. Complete accurate paperwork, delivery information, and collection of money.
  13. 40+ hours/week, Weekend on-call when necessary. Work until completion during busy times.
  14. Attendance is important to our customer service and to maintain successful and efficient completion of day-to-day task loads.
