Raineri Construction is seeking an experienced General Superintendent, well-versed in managing multiple commercial projects of varying size and scope, to provide oversight and support for Superintendents and Foremen on various projects. The General Superintendent will oversee all trade labor hires, transfers and layoffs and report to the Director of Field Operations.

Essential Activities

  • Coordinate with the Director of Field Operations for assignment of all Superintendent and Foreman positions.
  • Oversee and support Superintendents throughout the duration of their jobs.
  • Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of Raineri Construction Company s safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foremen. Ensure critical activities and decisions remain on task.
  • Document project field issues that impact budget, quality or schedule, and provide to the project management and operations teams.
  • Provide guidance in implementation of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
  • Identify projects with Self-Perform opportunities and assist in the development of the Self-Perform.
  • Manage Self-Perform performance.
  • Manage equipment allocation and tracking.
  • Maintain a progression/succession plan for all high-potential tradesmen in conjunction with the Director of Field Operations.
  • Manage training for tradesmen. Provide leadership and influence training and development of subordinates to improve their capabilities.
  • Identify and recruit top talent.
  • Support Business Development and Estimating with development of operational plans for various opportunities.
  • Support the Project Superintendents and Project Managers in the development of logistics plans and schedules during pre-construction and early project activities.
  • Have a complete understanding of the budget and communicate regularly with the Project Manager.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Safety Director to develop a site specific safety plan.
  • Ensure Weekly Safety Audits are properly performed and deficiencies are resolved.
  • Complete New Employee Safety Orientation for each new employee.
  • Correct unsafe acts of employees by on the spot instruction.
  • Demand good housekeeping practices by all employees and subcontractor employees.
  • Enforce Disciplinary Action Program.
  • Follow protocols for injury/incident management and documentation.

Education and/or Other Requirements

  • OSHA 30 – Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • EPA Lead Based Paint Renovator Certification - Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Experience with Multi-family, apartments, retail, ground up and renovation.
  • Experience using project management software, Procore a plus.
  • Experience with self-preform work.
