We are a growing construction employer in the western suburbs in need of a Human Resources Manager for our main office in Batavia, IL. We are seeking an individual who has experience as a solo HR professional and contributor. The position is responsible for the all aspects of the Human Resource function and the daily Office Administration of the company.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing all aspects of the HR and bring an innovative approach to HR processes.

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the leadership team,

The HR Manager will drive business results and provide leadership and vision that will enable the company to attract, develop and retain key talent.

He/She will serve as an expert resource in implementing best practice programs to ensure that the company is positioned in the market as a best place to work organization.


  • Implement HR operational excellence philosophy throughout the organization.
  • Develop and disseminate effective and clear communications regarding all HR benefits, policies, and practices.
  • Create a value-added approach to Talent Acquisition through job evaluation, position analysis, interviewing and on-boarding.
  • Serve as an internal expert to guide management on matters concerned with employee relations and employment law.
  • Optimize effectiveness of HRIS processes including Applicant Tracking, On-boarding, Learning Management, and Performance Management/Goals Systems etc.
  • Seeks continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group; provides employees with professional and personal growth opportunities.
  • Manage expense budget, assists with budget tracking and compliance.


  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven record of communicating ideas to obtain approval on ideas and programs, align internal and external resources, and guide change among workforce in a positive manner.
  • Operational Excellence - Sets high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments. Manages business priorities and resources to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective achievement of business results.
  • Talent Developer - Coach managers and employees through complex issues. Manages changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm. Uses interpersonal styles that guide individuals toward higher levels of performance.

  • Technical Knowledge Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad based HR Operations experience with increased responsibility
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to drive growth/ profitability through HR initiatives and efficiencies.
