Job Description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) performs HR activities to meet the service goals of the client. The HRBP maintains a strong relationship with clients through effective communication and solution delivery.


  • Develops strong relationships with client through effective communication
  • Collaborates with clients to develop core human resource programs such as performance management, talent acquisition, orientation and onboarding, handbooks, job descriptions, compensation, and best management practices
  • Conducts a periodic review of existing handbooks to perform updates and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Collaborates with clients regarding current job descriptions on an ongoing basis, ensuring essential functions are up to date, and descriptions are created for new positions
  • Pro-actively identify areas of legal exposure, and provide assistance and guidance, i.e. FLSA, Title VII, FMLA
  • Assists managers and other supervisors with employee discipline and corrective action, hiring, promotion and discharge techniques to promote satisfactory employee relations in which to reduce the probability of future unjust discharge or discrimination claims. Uses discretion to determine if review of written documentation prior to disseminating to the employee is needed
  • Develops proactive initiatives and problem solving to meet clients human resource needs and provide value added services
  • Identifies and recommends other products and services as client needs necessitate
  • Conducts annual planning session to identify client s strategic HR needs and prepares follow up and initiative tracking through internal tools and processes
  • Performs HR audit/needs analysis for new clients to assess compliance and employment practices initiatives
  • Provides advice and tools regarding the hiring process by providing behavioral interviewing guidelines, application templates, pre-employment testing information, and assistance with recruiting strategies.
  • Provides advice and tools regarding the termination process by providing advice regarding best practices and alternatives to separation, and template separation agreements
  • Conducts investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Provides summary of investigation, along with recommendations to clients
  • Assists in investigation and resolution of employee complaints and coordinates processes of responding to those
  • Conduct investigations and oversee process, timeline and invoicing administration as it relates to EPLI claims
  • Oversight of the unemployment claims and leave administration processes for clients
  • Conducts new manager/supervisor orientations on compliance issues, such as harassment and work related injuries. Makes recommendations and assists with the presentation of formal training programs, such as harassment and management best practices
  • Responsible for meeting company deadlines during open enrollment process
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor s Degree from a four-year college or university in human resources, business, or related field
  • Three to five years related HR generalist experience and/or training: or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Certified in PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP within one year of meeting testing qualifications


  • Ability to work under general supervision and work independently on projects
  • Utilize work experience and judgment to strategically plan and accomplish goals.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, employees, superiors and business contacts in a professional, timely and courteous manner
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, often changing assignments on short notice
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards


  • Must be able to proficiently operate Windows PC with MS Office and MS Outlook
  • Familiar use with HRIS and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
