Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Responsibilities will include hydraulic and structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures related to dams, levees, flood control, hydroelectric facilities, and other water resource projects.
  • Typical structures include spillways, outlet works, canals, storm drainage facilities, flood walls, and pump stations.
  • Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, bidding documents, and project schedules.
  • Develop and manage task budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare technical memos and reports, presentations, and other project-related documentation.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
  • Five-10 years' experience in Civil Engineering and Water Resources related fields.
  • Registered professional engineer in California.
  • We are seeking a civil engineer specializing in water resource engineering with strong analysis and design experience working on civil works projects such as dams, pipelines, levees, canals, pump stations and related structures.
  • Strong theoretical background with experience in applying analyses to practical solutions, including computer modeling and seismic analysis and designs.
  • Ability to supervise and direct junior staff.
  • Experience with project management concepts and software. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Candidates should be thoroughly familiar with computerized applications including Microsoft software and structural and hydraulic engineering applications.
  • Knowledgeable of California water institutions and systems is desirable, including the California Department of Water Resources, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
