Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Hydrology Superintendent is responsible for creating all systems, policies and procedures to support the Company s hydrology efforts. Partnering with the Environmental department, the position also ensures Environmental compliance to all the Company s permitting and regulatory obligations. Emphasis is on activities related to permitting through development and operation of the wellfield. Other key activities include managing contractors and drilling programs.


  • Manage hydrology programs and provide input into permitting and wellfield design
  • Responsible for groundwater management for the companies ISR (in-situ recovery) mining project
  • Manage external contractors/consultants producing results on time and within budget
  • Management of field hydrology programs in an efficient cost-effective manner
  • Develop technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on project opportunities of all sizes and levels of complexity
  • Supervision of other hydrologists and field employees
  • Actively lead the development of new standards and techniques that will provide direction and guidance to the employees.
  • Work with EHS regarding policy reviews to ensure that they meet the current regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement of the hydrology function and reporting process


  • Strong hydrology field experience in various types of wellfields/operations
  • Hydrology/geology degree preferred, other disciplines with appropriate hydrological experience and expertise reviewed
  • Experience in fractured rock hydrology systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of downhole geophysical hydrological testing methods
  • Working knowledge of AQTESOLVE and MODFLOW
  • Past interaction and knowledge of permitting agencies

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with senior management and functional department managers
  • Must have a valid Drivers License
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
