Job Description

Penco Products is America's largest producer of storage products and material handling solutions.

SUMMARY: Daily duties will include working in the factory performing cycle counts, labeling and tagging product and materials, etc. etc.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following; however, other duties may apply.) Other duties may be assigned

Manage all aspects of inventory control throughout the facility

  1. a) Supervise and facilitate daily activities for the steel receiving department.
  2. b) Daily inventory processing related to production requirements and VMI
  3. c) Daily shop support related to inventory processing
  4. d) Work with production personnel to reduce inventory levels for semi-finished goods.

Cycle Counting

  1. a) Weekly cycle counting of seven key commodity groups
  2. b) Daily cycle count for items purchased from vendors on a daily basis
  3. c) Complete counts on time and consistently.
  4. d) Match cycle counts to on-hand QTY s and make necessary adjustments
  5. e) Trouble shoot and make improvements for accuracy throughout the entire inventory system.

Labels

  1. a) Make sure receiving labels are being applied to all incoming raw materials and Work closely with receiving department to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
  2. b) Ensure special order items can be easily identified and located by receiving label so employees do not spend time looking for special items
  3. c) Ensure received goods are routed to the proper department or rack location

Education and/or Experience

  • Two or four year college degree related to manufacturing preferred. Penco experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to perform root cause analysis on incorrect inventory balances and recommend corrective action to upper management.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in inventory control.
  • SAP/ERP experience
  • Solid verbal and written communication

Qualifications

Working knowledge of MS Office products

Working knowledge of MRP, SAP or other ERP systems.
