Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Long Products Coordinator provides direction to the Parts Supply Team as it pertains to workload, quality, process control, etc. This position will be responsible for facilitating training and development to subordinate operators and trainees. Additional responsibilities would include programming and operation of related equipment such as Tube lasers, Tube Bending equipment and the saw as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Operate Tube lasers, Tube bender, and saw a variety of materials.
  • Work from blueprints to produce finished product.
  • Use measuring equipment; caliper, protractor, square, etc.
  • Perform quality checks on parts.
  • Move material to and from other production areas as needed
  • Perform programming, recall programs, set up machines, use of correct tooling.
  • Operates overhead crane and forklift while moving product
  • Delegate jobs to operators based on production schedule
  • Verify quantity & quality of materials
  • Establish and communicate department schedules to appropriate personnel
  • Adhere to all company/departmental policies and procedures
  • Carry out training as needed as it pertains to safety, quality, and processes
  • Provide support and back up to Lead Personnel

DESIRED JOB SKILLS:

  • Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Prior forklift certification is preferred
  • Prior overhead crane operation is preferred
  • Prior lean manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Prior ISO experience is a plus
  • Prior experience with BML Tube Lasers, Tube Benders, and Sawing equipment is a plus
  • Prior experience with Tube Laser and Tube Bender Programming is a plus
  • Prior coursework in relation to Tube Laser and Tube Bender Operation is a plus

Job Requirements:

  • Requires 4+ years of Tube laser Operations including set up and programming
  • Determine nest sequences for optimal utilization of laser
  • Must understand the relationship between tube cutting and tube bending
  • Must possess outstanding blueprint reading skills
  • Must possess excellent writing skills
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to carry out work instructions effectively in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Must be able to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or control.
  • Must have visual acuity
  • Must be able to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis
