Machine Operator III (9000)

Job Summary
The machine operator III programs machines and fabricates various parts to print and/or standard work while using multiple machines and hand tools. High efficiency is a key responsibility of this role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate a brake press, plasma, saw, bridgeport and fadal
  • Write and modify programs on brake press, plasma and fadal
  • Coordinate jobs to meet with customer demands
  • Read metric and English tape measures correctly
  • Operate an overhead crane to load parts onto work area
  • Read prints to determine that parts are correct
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and preventative maintenance
  • Physical requirements
    • Regularly required to stand; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Work environment
    • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to vibration
    • Indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation
    • Loud noise level
  • Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or human resources
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education
    • One year certificate from college or technical school
  • Experience
    • Three to six months related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
    • CNC and CAD experience
    • Proficiency in blueprint reading
  • Certification
    • Sit down forklift certification
