JOB DESCRIPTION

Dylan s Candy Bar associates love the brand, love our products, and are passionate about bringing those products to life for our customers. Overnight Supervisors work as members of the overnight team to properly unload trucks, stock, and merchandise accordingly. We work as a team, and team members are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Manager On Duty or as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assign tasks to all associates on duty and ensure they are completed
  • Supervision, staffing and scheduling of the workforce
  • Train new hires and issue on the spot training as needed to ensure full potential is reached
  • Communicate any issues to management team
  • Ensure all staff are in correct dress code
  • Observe the floor and make sure the business is running effectively and smoothly
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Overnight Lead, Manager on Duty, and all associates
  • Manage staff breaks
  • Proactively respond to the needs of the business and ensure the smooth running of the nightly operations and complete additional tasks as needed (i.e. arrange coverage for call outs)
  • Ensure a team based work environment
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager On Duty, and ability to designate tasks accorindingly
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by consistently treating all employees and customers with respect
  • Work well in a fast paced environment with ability to adapt to ever changing customer volume levels with a sense of urgency
  • Consistently and accurately use nightly prep sheets, cleanliness and station checklists
  • Oversee compliance of all associates with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and assets, personnel practices, security, sales and record keeping procedures
  • Exercise judgment and discretion alone, and in conjunction with, the Overnight Lead, and any other Manager, in the day-to-day operations of the store
  • Motivate staff to create a fun, energetic and productive environment
  • Collaborate with fellow managers and corporate members on product, promotions, events, contests, etc.
  • Any other tasks assigned from time to time

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years previous experience in an overnight/retail role
  • Ability to work a fully flexible retail schedule including nights, weekends and holidays is a MUST
  • Availability to work the hours necessary to open and/or close the store
  • Ability to supervise overnight team effectively
  • Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to workforce
  • Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to work force
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understands material, and provides instructions to associates
  • Integrity and honesty is an absolute MUST
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and follow-through skills
  • The incumbent must be very energetic
  • Must possess a high threshold for ambiguity and change
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Appreciation of the brand s unique culture, entrepreneurial attitude, heritage and passion for its products
