Position: Program Manager - Financial Opportunity Center (FOC)
Location: Houston, Tx

Rate of Pay: $50,000 annually


The Program Manager is responsible for program operations. The Program Manager will set goals for the center and support the goals of the organization. Position must show strong supervisory and leadership skills and must work as a team member.


  1. Assumes primary responsibility for the direction of the Financial Opportunity Center.
  2. Responsible for reporting outcomes and data as required by grants/contracts.
  3. Monitors and ensures implementation of the programming aspects for the program based on contractual requirements.
  4. Develops community referrals and collaborations to strengthen service offerings.
  5. Negotiates and creates contracts for Job Skills provision.
  6. Attends all meetings with LISC, THRIVE and Americorps.
  7. Attends and participates in trainings as scheduled or directed.
  8. Implements all Volunteers of America Texas, Inc. Policies and Procedures, Personnel Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and management directives.
  9. Manages mentor program for the FOC clients.
  10. Manages the VOA Donation Center.
  11. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees as it relates to the program.


Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services or related field plus two years of transferable experience OR six years directly related, transferable experience. Valid Texas Drivers License.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
