Punch Press Set-Up Technician – 2nd shift ($21.86/hr)

Milwaukee, WI

STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION, one of the worlds largest producers of automotive locks and keys has immediate openings for Punch Press Set-Up Technician on 2nd shift.

We continue to be awarded new contracts by the automotive and truck industry and are adding to staff. We offer a great work environment, excellent pay, comprehensive benefits package including $1 match on 401k along with opportunities for growth.

2nd shift hours: 2:00pm – 10:30pm. Plus .40cents/hr shift premium.

What you will do:

  • Set-up progressive presses that have a coil feed
  • Troubleshoot and make corrective adjustments as needed
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain quality of work by adjusting, changing or altering tools.
  • Conduct 1st piece quality inspection according to specs.
  • Ability to learn and operate other machines.
  • SPC charting or QS-9000 inspection knowledge desired.
  • Change or sharpen tools to maintain the quality of work, make repairs according to specifications

  • Use blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

What does it take:

  • Prior manufacturing experience and/or good mechanical skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting with the ability to identifying and resolve the issue.
  • Prior machine set-up experience desired.
  • Demonstrated experience reading blueprints, use measuring gauges, calculate measurements and basic math skills.
  • Candidates must pass a written test including blueprint reading, measurements and math skills.
  • Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
