Job Description

NAC is seeking a Purchaser to add to our growing company. This position purchases for the entire company, yet primarily for the construction and fabrication divisions. The position is insures material and equipment procurement and best value through coordination with project management, field management, vendors and manufacturers.

Primary Responsibilities of the Purchaser:

  • Negotiate and solicit best price; analyze quotes; order material and equipment for NAC s construction and fabrication divisions.
  • Generate purchase orders and maintain electronic documentation to support purchase records.
  • Procure delivery and lead times for material and equipment necessary to keep projects on schedule.
  • Coordinate with vendors and with NAC s delivery operations for schedules and deliveries to project sites.
  • Verify pricing and accuracy of vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies
  • Work with management for purchasing best practices, suggest process improvements as needed.
  • Other duties as required to support the department.

Requirements for the Purchaser:

  • Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of piping, plumbing, sheetmetal and electrical materials or strong willingness to learn.
  • Strong computer skills including ease of working in corporate ERP systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills; understands the need to and can communicate effectively with internal and external customers of the purchasing department.
  • Confident working independently while recognizing the position works as part of a team.
  • Organized, good planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in changing situations.
  • Pays attention to detail and follows tasks through to completion.
