The Quality Control Manager will improve safety, production, and quality in all aspects of field operations. Reduce overall project costs by recommending construction methods. Create a culture of collaboration between the field and office employees that will distinguish Tarlton from every other contractor as uniquely able to solve problems and provide extraordinary service.


  • Monitor QA/QC program on active projects, make formal recommendations to project teams for improvement.
  • In conjunction with the safety department, initiate and confirm the daily use of the "Safe Production Huddle" by Superintendents on all projects.
  • Review project estimates and construction costs and then champion LEAN construction practices to control costs and increase productivity.
  • Help Superintendents generate daily production goals to create accountability, improve performance, and reduce job costs.
  • Help project teams take ownership of the QA/QC program through consistent review with Superintendents and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supervise and Assist the Quality Control Coordinator (Layout Superintendent) with scheduling, time management, and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate quality inspections with all the site subcontractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate with all the customers representatives on all quality matters.
  • Coordinate all receipt inspections.
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in the site internal and external site audits.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed.
  • Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action.
  • Complete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses.
  • Review the customers specification and undertake relevant training to the site QC inspector.
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer.
  • Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues - coordinate and chair the QA/QC projects with subcontractors.
  • Ensure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current.

PREREQUISITES (i.e., Education, Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in commercial construction with exposure to a wide variety of projects.
  • Wide range of knowledge of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Must be organized and able to plan and schedule work.
  • Must be able to interpret construction documents.
