The Quality Engineer position is responsible for the various phases of inspection from receiving to loadout, the testing of pumping stations and electrical panels, and the maintenance of corresponding records, to ensure that engineering specifications and high standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. We prefer an engineer for this position, but keep in mind this is a very hands-on position on the production floor working with and testing equipment as well as interfacing with the design engineering team and the production team.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Responsible for providing complete inspection throughout the various phases of manufacturing, the incumbent accepts or rejects manufactured and purchased products by ensuring adherence to customer specifications and engineering standards.
  • Perform testing on pumping station equipment and electrical panels to ensure proper functionality before loadout.
  • Perform final visual inspection of finished products before they ship to end-users.
  • Compile and maintain records of all inspections and testing, including pictures and all related paperwork to provide future references.
  • Investigation and research of quality related problems and other special activities as assigned.
  • Consult with Engineering and other internal departments to ensure proper interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Assist in training and informing Engineers of inspection procedures.
  • Assist Manufacturing and suppliers in upgrading their performance reports and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • 4-year Manufacturing/Technical Engineering degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in electrical, welding, fabrication and painting is required.
  • Experience with electrical panels and how they are wired.
  • Previous inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
