Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for Cherry Safety Program training, job site auditing to ensure safety policies, procedures and practices are followed by all personnel in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and ordinances, including those of the client.

Job Requirements:

  • Performs safety training for all employees on a routine basis, ensuring the Cherry Safety Program policies, practices and procedures are communicated and reinforced on a regular basis.
  • Visits, observes and inspects job site activities to perform safety audits.
  • Authority to discipline and or terminate an employee due to safety violations
  • Meets with Cherry Industrial Demolition Project Manager & Superintendent on weekly basis to inform and apprise of Safety Program issues, compliance and activities.
  • Monitors and administers Cherry Safety Awards program.
  • Establishes relationships with, and works with, Safety equipment suppliers/vendors.
  • Performs daily job site safety meetings and presents topics.
  • May meet with Federal, State and Local government agencies to discuss Cherry safety program, incidents or accidents, as required.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most work (90%) is performed outside in all temperatures and weather conditions, and requires:
    • Ability to climb stairs, and structures at heights of over 10 feet
    • Ability to walk through job sites
    • Able to stoop, kneel, and crawl in awkward positions
  • Ability to handle exposure to loud noise, machinery, chemicals, fumes, odors, etc. in industrial plant settings; exposure to high levels of dust, loud noise, machinery, exhaust fumes, odors, etc. at other job sites.
  • Required to wear safety equipment including Nomex coveralls, hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed work boots, hearing protectors, respirator, gloves and other safety equipment that may be required for the project.
