We are currently seeking a Steelyard Material Handler to join our growing team!
Job Responsibilities:
- Organizing steel yard and moving materials in and around yard and manufacturing facility operating forklift and Combi-lift.
- Preparing orders by processing requests and supply orders and pulling materials, packing and banding boxes.
- Receiving orders and unloading packages from truck and storing them properly in the warehouse, checking them against their bills of lading and invoices.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and keeping tools and equipment used for packing, unloading/loading goods in their assigned places.
- Keeping inventory of all shipping consumables and order as needed.
- Quality control of products and goods received in the warehouse and ensuring that they are not damaged or incorrect in size or dimension.
- Maintaining accurate records of the materials received and transported out of the warehouse. Verifying Material Test Reports/Mill Certs; matching material received, quantity and quality.
- Pulling parts and staging for welding/fabrication
- Maintaining communication with Inventory Control Department. Notifies immediately of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Ordering and scheduling trucks for shipments
- Operating forklift to load/unload trucks or move materials
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintaining quality service by following organization standards.
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year steelyard staging/organization experience
- Forklift experience with 40 long materials
- Must have strong understanding of steel gauges and sizes and general knowledge of SAE material grades
- Must be dependable, possess a teamwork mentality, and ability to coordinate, organize, and plan
- Must possess excellent time management skills
- Must have accurate reporting/documentation and data entry skills along with knowledge of inventory control.
