RK Hall Construction Ltd is a leading provider of high quality asphalt paving materials and services, pavement rehabilitation, grading, and bridge construction in the northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas area. The company enjoys a good working relationship with the Department of Transportation and Municipal agencies of those areas, and performs private and commercial contracts as well.


Superintendent, Construction:

Directs activities of workers involved concerned with construction of highways, roads, pipelines, or other construction projects.

Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction, based on knowledge of available tools and equipment and various building methods.

Coordinates with Human Resources department to post required job openings, interviews candidates, and makes personnel decisions.

Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.

Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.

Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.

Inspects work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and that construction schedules are adhered to.

Prepares or receives from subordinates, reports of progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

May direct workers concerned with major maintenance or recondition projects for existing installations. Workers are usually designated according to type of projects, work, or construction activity directed.

Reports to area manager.

Is responsible and accountable for the implementation of environmental, health, and safety regulations/policies (governmental and company).

Operation of a vehicle is normally required, and employee must meet the R.K. Hall Driver Qualification Standards.

Overtime is often required.

May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather.

Individuals wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required for this position, includes but is not limited to: Safety toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility safety apparel, gloves, occasional hearing protection, occasional respiratory protection.
