Nature of Work

Create product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into detailed working technical documents. Review engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create fabrication drawings that are professional and accurate using architectural, structural, and mechanical contract prints consistent with company engineering standards.
  • Perform clash detection utilizing appropriate software.
  • Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity, and learn how to use all software options.
  • Attend coordination meeting with other trade contacts.
  • Receive incoming CAD files and convert them to engineering department standards.
  • Assist with the printing, plotting, copying, and filing of documents for record.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.

Education

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. One year vocational training from a two-year college or technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.

Experience

Six months to one year or more of related work experience required.

Experience with Revit software is preferred.
